What is inside the ring and how long it takes to get there
The ring is small. From Wawel Castle at its southern edge to the Barbican at the northern one is a twenty-minute walk, and the Main Market Square sits in the middle. Once you are inside, everything is walkable, which is why staying a little outside costs you one walk per day, not one per sight.
From this apartment you enter the ring from the Wawel side: twenty minutes on foot along the river, or twelve to fifteen minutes on the tram that stops a minute from the door. The route passes through Kazimierz, which most visitors want to walk through anyway.
Coming back at eleven at night, you leave a district full of bars and arrive in one where people live. That is the trade you are making, and for most guests staying more than two nights it is the right one.

Is 25 minutes far by Krakow standards?
It is normal for anywhere outside the Planty ring. The city is compact and most visitors walk these distances several times a day without noticing.
Can I get to the Old Town without walking?
Yes, the tram from the stop by the door takes twelve to fifteen minutes and runs until about eleven at night, with night buses after that.
Is it worth paying more to stay inside the Old Town?
If you are here for one night and want everything at the door, yes. For longer stays the noise inside the ring becomes the main complaint.
What is closer from here than from the Old Town?
Schindler's Factory, MOCAK, Ghetto Heroes Square, the Vistula boulevards and Krakus Mound.
Is the walk safe at night?
Yes. The route runs through Kazimierz and over a lit footbridge that is busy at all hours.
