Zablocie is the old industrial district next door, now full of converted warehouses. Two of the most visited museums in Krakow sit there side by side, and the tickets for one of them are the thing most visitors get wrong.

Booking the museums before you arrive
Schindler's Factory sells timed entry tickets and they sell out days ahead in season. The exhibition is about Krakow under German occupation rather than about the film, it takes roughly ninety minutes, and there is no ticket office queue that will save you if the day is full.
MOCAK, the contemporary art museum, stands in the same former factory yard. Its permanent collection is free on Tuesdays and the temporary shows change several times a year. Two museums in one courtyard makes half a day, with a cafe between them.
The walk from the apartment runs along the railway and takes about twenty minutes, passing Ghetto Heroes Square and the Eagle Pharmacy on the way. The whole memorial route is on this side of the river, so you can do it on foot from the door.
The apartment is in Old Podgorze, not in Zablocie itself. The museums are a 20-minute walk away.

Several days in summer, and a week if your dates are fixed. Entry is by time slot and popular hours go first.
Is the apartment in Zablocie?
No, it is in Old Podgorze, the district next to it. Zablocie starts a ten-minute walk away, on the other side of the railway.
Can I walk to the museums or should I take a tram?
Walking takes about twenty minutes along a flat route. The tram takes ten and runs from a stop a minute from the door.
Is the exhibition suitable for children?
The museum suggests it for teenagers and older. Ghetto Heroes Square and the walk through Podgorze work better for younger children.
What else is there in Zablocie?
Cafes and a food hall in converted warehouses, a few galleries and clubs. Quieter in the evening than Kazimierz, but enough for dinner.
