Krakow stays
Day by day
Day one, the Old Town. Walk in along the river, up to Wawel, then down Kanonicza and Grodzka to the Main Square. Cloth Hall, St Mary's Basilica, lunch a few streets off the Square where prices return to normal, back through the Planty and Kazimierz.
Day two, Kazimierz and the memorial route. Synagogues and Plac Nowy in the morning, then across the footbridge to our side: Ghetto Heroes Square, the Eagle Pharmacy, Schindler's Factory with a ticket booked days earlier. Dinner in Kazimierz.
Day three, Podgorze. Podgorze Market Square, Bednarski Park in an old quarry, Krakus Mound for the view, MOCAK in the afternoon or bikes along the boulevards. The least walking and the most that people remember.
Book Schindler's Factory before you arrive. Same-day tickets are usually gone in season.

Frequently asked questions
Is three days enough for Krakow?
For the Old Town, Kazimierz and Podgorze, yes. Wieliczka or Auschwitz need a separate fourth day.
What if it rains all day?
The museums on this side of the river, Schindler's Factory, MOCAK and the Eagle Pharmacy, are all walkable from the flat. The kitchen covers the evening.
Do we need public transport tickets for this plan?
Barely. Everything above is walkable; a tram helps coming back from the Square late.
When is the best time of year for two?
September and early October: warm, fewer crowds, lower rates than summer.
Can we do Auschwitz as a day trip?
Yes, by train, about ninety minutes each way, plus three and a half hours on site with a guide. It fills a day completely.
