The Podgorze market is local: a handful of stalls, mulled wine, cheese, honey, sometimes a choir from a nearby school. Dates and hours vary from year to year, so it is worth asking on arrival rather than planning around it.

The Main Square market is the big one, with dozens of stalls, and it is where visitors go. In the evening it is crowded enough that moving between stalls takes patience.

Doing both in one evening works well. Start at the Podgorze square around five, walk over the footbridge through Kazimierz, arrive at the Main Square by six. Twenty-five minutes of walking with lights the whole way.
